Have a 2014 Mazda 3 I bought new with 163K miles on it, as I commute 70 miles / day to work. Oil changes every 7,500 miles, trans service at 120K, and getting a coolant flush in two weeks. Have never had a warning light come on so far. Dealer says ball joints, serpentine belt, etc all in great shape. On 3rd set of tires. Love the car.

75. Location. Texas. Oct 8, 2021. #5. These days ATF is speced for 120-150k mi by the ATF manufacturer. You probably can push it to 200k miles before getting signs of serious issues. For most people this is lifetime already. I still have the habit to D/F it every 60k on my 2016 Mazda (s) 3.

Mazda also brags about the Skyactiv-G 2.5T’s compression ratio of 10.5:1, one of the highest for any turbocharged engine with an 89-mm bore size that can run on regular gasoline. While Mazda did not say anything about fitting the new engine on other models, the 2.5-liter turbo will likely end up in other Mazdas as well.
I have a 2014 Mazda 6 with the 2.5L Skyactiv.it really is a fantastically designed engine and powertrain.I get about 10-12% better MPG with 91 octane Premium (non-ethanol) so its almost a wash as far as cost.It seems to like non-ethanol more than just the higher octane as the MPG gains are obvious from the few times I have found 87
Interesting. My wife's car is a 2014 Mazda6 - dealer maintained so far with 130k miles or so. It has the 2.5L SkyActiv-G. It's a daily driver, and gets driven almost every day. 3-4 times a year long trips of about 400 miles round-trip. Using 0w-20 Mazda oil (syn) (idemitsu?) at the dealer for oil changes every 7,500 miles.
